C rate shows the battery cells discharge ability. For example Samsung29E(2900mAh) 3C rate cells means it can discharge with 2900*3=8.7Amps continuous.

 

We have two series battery packs for sale:

MCN series

Such as Samsung29E[3C rate],Samsung22P[4C rate], SonyV3[4C rate], Samsung25R[10C rate] or SANYO and Panasonic high C rate cells, Charge-discharge cycle life is more than 800 times.

LFP series

We make LiFePO4 battery packs all with A123 18650 cells(30C rate).

Safety and long working life are the major features of LiFePO4 battery cells. It is more safer than MCN cells and charge-discharge cycle life is more than 1500 times. Shortcoming is low energy density.

 

Battery Manage System (BMS) is necessary for Li-ion battery packs, we design and make BMS by ourselves, we provide 10A/30A/50A/100A/150A models BMS for choice.

 

 

Technology

A lithium-ion battery or Li-ion battery (abbreviated as LIB) is a type of rechargeable battery in which lithium ions move from the negative electrode to the positive electrode during discharge and back when charging. Li-ion batteries use an intercalated lithium compound as one electrode material, compared to the metallic lithium used in a non-rechargeable lithium battery. The electrolyte, which allows for ionic movement, and the two electrodes are the constituent components of a lithium-ion battery cell.


Lithium-ion batteries are common in home electronics. They are one of the most popular types of rechargeable batteries for portable electronics, with a high energy density, tiny memory effect and low self-discharge. Beyond consumer electronics, LIBs are also growing in popularity for military, battery electric vehicle and aerospace applications. For example, lithium-ion batteries are becoming a common replacement for the leadCacid batteries that have been used historically for golf carts and utility vehicles. Instead of heavy lead plates and acid electrolyte, the trend is to use lightweight lithium-ion battery packs that can provide the same voltage as lead-acid batteries, so no modification to the vehicle's drive system is required.


Chemistry, performance, cost and safety characteristics vary across LIB types. Handheld electronics mostly use LIBs based on lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2), which offers high energy density, but presents safety risks, especially when damaged. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4), lithium ion manganese oxide battery (LiMn2O4, Li2MnO3, or LMO) and lithium manganese cobalt nickel oxide (LiMnCoNiO2 or MCN) offer lower energy density, but longer lives and inherent safety. Such batteries are widely used for electric tools, medical equipment and other roles. MCN in particular is a leading contender for automotive applications. Lithium nickel cobalt aluminum oxide (LiNiCoAlO2 or NCA) and lithium titanium (Li4Ti5O12 or LTO) are specialty designs aimed at particular niche roles. The newer lithiumCsulfur batteries promise the highest performance-to-weight ratio.


Lithium-ion batteries can be dangerous under some conditions and can pose a safety hazard since they, unlike other rechargeable batteries, contain a flammable electrolyte and are kept pressurized. Because of this, the testing standards for these batteries are more stringent than those for acid-electrolyte batteries, requiring both a broader range of test conditions and additional battery-specific tests. This is in response to reported accidents and failures, and there have been battery-related recalls by some companies.

For example:

The rated power=500 Watts

The max power=1000 Watts

Limited voltage=60V

Limited current=50A

Working time= 1 hour

If 36V battery <42V max>

            battery capacity=500*1/36=13.9Ah.

            BMS=1000/42=23.8A

            23.8/13.9=1.7C

            So you may choose 36V14Ah battery made of 2C rate cells matched a 20A BMS.

If 48V battery <54.6V max>

            battery capacity=500*1/48=10.4Ah

            BMS=1000/54.6=18.3A

            18.3/10.4=1.7C

            So you may choose 48V10Ah battery made of 2C rate cells matched a 15A BMS.
